Side effects
What shows up, when it peaks, and what helps.
Side effects on this treatment have a shape. They are not a constant background level of feeling unwell, and they are not random bad days — they arrive in a wave after each dose increase and recede as your body adapts to the new level, usually smaller each time.
Nearly all of the common ones come from a single mechanism: a stomach that empties more slowly than it used to. Nausea, early fullness, constipation and reflux are that mechanism experienced from the inside. A short list of symptoms sits outside this picture entirely and needs assessment rather than patience; those are covered under Safety.
Side effects, week by week
Nausea on a GLP-1 is not random. It follows the dose ladder on a schedule you can predict — and predicting it is most of what makes it manageable.
Injection sites, and why rotation matters
Three approved areas, one simple rule, and a failure mode that quietly reduces how much drug you absorb.
Constipation, and what actually helps
The side effect most likely to persist rather than fade — and the one most responsive to three unglamorous changes.
