Editorial standards

How pages here are sourced, what we will and will not publish, and how corrections work.

Health information is easy to write badly and consequential when it is wrong. These are the rules we hold ourselves to. They are published so you can check whether we are following them.

Sourcing

What we will not publish

Limits we state openly

This site is not written or medically reviewed by clinicians. We think saying so is more useful than a vague credibility signal. What we do is read the primary documents carefully and cite them, so that you can check any claim against its source rather than trusting ours.

Where a question requires clinical judgement about you specifically — whether a dose is right, whether a symptom is serious, whether a medicine suits your history — the honest answer is that a website cannot provide it, and every page here says so.

Trademarks and drug names

Brand names appear here descriptively, to identify the medicines people actually take. All trademarks belong to their respective owners; the ownership notice appears in the footer of every page. This site is independent of and unaffiliated with every company named.

Updates and corrections

Each article carries the date it was last reviewed. When guidance changes — a new indication, a revised schedule, a safety update — the page is revised and the date moves.

When we get something wrong, we correct it and note that a correction was made rather than editing silently. If you have spotted an error, please tell us; a specific pointer to the sentence is more useful than a general concern.

Advertising and funding

There is no advertising on this site and no affiliate revenue. It is funded by Vela, an app made by the same team. That relationship is disclosed on every page where the app is mentioned.
