Vela
The app that funds this site: a tracker for GLP-1 treatment, built by the same people.
Vela is an iPhone app for tracking GLP-1 treatment. It is made by the same people who write GLP-1 Atlas, and it is how this site pays for itself — there is no advertising here and no affiliate revenue.
The app exists for the same reason the site does. The things that decide how this treatment goes are unglamorous and easy to lose track of: taking the dose on schedule, moving up the ladder without losing muscle, and telling the difference between a side effect that is a pattern and one that was a bad day.
What it does
- Doses and dose steps — your titration schedule, which week you are on, and how long until the next injection.
- Injection site rotation — a body map showing which sites have rested. The failure mode is described here.
- Weight and body composition — how much of your loss is fat and how much is lean mass, from your own measurements.
- Protein — a daily target calculated from lean mass, logged by photo, barcode or a tap.
- Side effects — a daily check-in, and the pattern it reveals over cycles.
- Medication level — a calculated curve from the drug's half-life. The arithmetic is explained here.
Where your data lives
On your device, and in your own iCloud if you turn sync on. We have no servers holding your health data and no accounts to hold it against. Progress photos are encrypted on device and never leave it.
The full privacy policy is here, including the one case where data does leave the device.
Dose logging, reminders, site rotation, and weight and side-effect tracking are free and stay free. The paid tier adds the calculated layers — medication level, side-effect patterns, body composition, the doctor report and sync. Nothing you use every day expires.
Not a medical device
Vela organises and visualises what you enter. It does not diagnose, does not recommend a dose, and does not replace your prescriber's plan.
